What are Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) blood tests?

  • MCED blood tests are tests that can detect signs of multiple types of cancer in a single sample of blood. 
  • They may be able to detect cancers which the NHS don't currently screen for
  • There are currently clinical trials underway in the UK to test their efficacy

Our study:

We aim to identify the information and communication needs of healthcare providers, policy makers and diverse members of the public for MCED blood tests, with a focus on health equity.
To do this, we will conduct a series of in-depth qualitative studies:
